PSE&G Sucks.

Luckily, the regional headquarters of mrwestwood.com has been replete with electricity for the duration, and aftermath, of hurricane Irene.  However, as early as 8am this morning, numerous neighborhoods throughout Westwood, and throughout the Pascack Valley, have experienced extended electricity outages.

This sent many people in low-lying areas scrambling for generators to power the sump pumps to keep their homes from flooding.  Eleven hours later, electricity still has not been restored.

There were no significant reports of high winds in the region overnight, yet PSE&G couldn’t do the most important thing it is charged with doing–keep the electricity flowing.

Do you live in a neighborhood which lost power today?  Does your neighborhood have those useless solar panels flying high on the poles?  We had a sunny afternoon in Westwood.  Why wasn’t the solar panel sending power to your home?  Because PSE&G’s solar panels do nothing.

For all of you who fell prey to PSE&G’s public disservice today, we will use a bit of our own electricity to send out a message on your behalf:

PSE&G SUCKS!

  1. PSEG has no clue how to service customers. The website has zero useful information. Our power in Glen Ridge has been out since 2 am Sunday and all I know is it will be restored by next Sunday. Are they new at this or what???

  2. Have you seen PSE&G’s outage maps and tables? What a joke. Wow, you can see that there are > or = 10,001 fellow customers without power in Bergen County. That helps!

  3. Oradell here, power on and off since Sunday PSEG shut their phones off Sunday and Monday and played a canned message “we are experiencing an outage in your area please call back during regular hours” oh ok sorry to bother you PSEG. As of this writing half of Oradell and Riveredge without power again since noon Wednesday and PSEG says they know about it but when it will be fixed? Only heaven knows they say in fact the OBVIOUS drop-out who answered the phone told me I could check outages on their site. Too bad I have no power huh? Man, eff these guys they blow.

  4. A year later, Hurrican Sandy and PSE&G still SUCKS!!

3 full days without power for all of their operating area and a predicted 7 more days without power according to their website.

PSE&G should be burnt to the ground so we can all piss on the ashes. I talked to a crew from California who is just leaving TODAY to drive cross-country to help bail out PSE&G.

  5. How about that Delta gas station on Old Hook Rd., Westwood. A week ago they were selling gas for $3.299/gal. On Tuesday, they were selling gas at $3.459/gal. Today their price is $3.999/gal. This seems to violate NJ’s price-gouging law. Maybe they don’t know that NJ was declared a state of emergency. Exxon gas station on KKK Rd. was selling gas for $3.699 before Sandy. Express gas station on Irvington was selling gas last Wednesday for $3.399/gal. Petro Two on Broadway was selling gas last weekend for $3.359/gal. I don’t know what these stations are charging today.

  6. Petro Two not pumping gas this afternoon; neither is Enright on Old Hook Road. Express gas on Irvington Street has gas advertised at $3.799/gallon this afternoon, up from $3.399 when emergency was declared. This violates the 10% cap cited in The Record. Exxon on Kinderkamack Rd. is pumping gas at $4.159 this afternoon, up from $3.799 when emergency was declared. This is within the 10% cap. Delta on Old Hook Road looks like the biggest violator of the 10% cap, followed by Express on Irvington Street. Where are the police?

  7. Update on the Westwood gasoline price gougers. Enrite gas on Old Hook Rd. has joined price gougers Delta gas and Express gas. Enrite was selling gas for $3.999/gall0n this afternoon, up from $3.379/gallon when emergency was declared.
